I love it when a couple tells me they want to recreate a photo like one from their parents or grandparents. The bride-to-be mentioned that her grandparents have a photo from their wedding day that was taken in front of a gate at Harvard.

We started our session on Memorial Drive near the Skating Club and thought we would make our way down until we found the (a) gate.

But we didn’t know exactly were it was… Because of threatening weather, we jumped in my car for a drive a little further down where we were sure we would find a “Harvard Gate.” But alas the parking gods (nor the Cambridge police) were all to lenient with me. I must have used up all my credits during my youth.

But all that driving in circles did scare away the rain we went back to where we started and we were able to find some great spots along our walk down Memorial

and finally found that (or at least a similar) gate.

Looking forward to October!

Just a few preview photos from M&M’s wedding in Sudbury, Massachusetts. I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter, happier couple to photograph and the weather was just what the Doctors ordered (Yes, I can hear the collective groan from the many members of the medical community present at the wedding.)

My favorite part of this wedding was seeing how well this couple and their families were able to blend the beautiful traditions that they wanted to incorporate from their collective backgrounds. This is something that makes a wedding so unique and, to be honest, makes my job ridiculously fun.

I have to admitt, when the bride walked in with this dress in her hand, I got a little giddy with excitement. It is one thing to get to photograph a beautiful white gown, but a red one too on the same day- photographer heaven. I am so glad they let me pry them away from the reception for 5 minutes so we could get some photos with this gown as well.

Jeremy & Rachel | wedding photography in Albany
This was a wedding that knew how to have a good time. In fact, as we were leaving, my 2nd shooter told me that it was one of the most fun weddings that she had been to. What made it so special? I think it was the enthusiasm everyone in the room brought with them. The celebration, the dancing- the obvious love you could feel from the attendants of the wedding.

As a side note: Rachel and Jeremy actually found me as a photographer after I took this photo of them a year ago at another wedding. They were dancing together and made this beautiful image of a couple in love.

It wasn’t too long after that Jeremy contacted me asking to use the photograph as part of his planned wedding proposal. He had it made into a puzzle and had her assemble it all withholding one missing piece that said “marry me?” which he presented her along with a ring. How sweet is that?
