WEEEEEEEEEE | World War 1 Memorial Park North Attleboro.

Perhaps you look at the photograph below and think (like I do on most days), “Wow! what a cute 2 year old!”

Then perhaps you come to a slide that looks like this and think, “What self respecting parent would send their kid down that thing? I get vertigo looking up at it.”

Now. Let me introduce you to my son Griffin. He was up this before I could set my camera to manual… And that is fast.

Speaking of monsters, my daughter has been known to tame a few wild beasts of her own.

But if you really run into trouble, they will both come on the double.

If you are in the neighborhood, I highly recommend World War 1 Memorial Park and Zoo in North Attleboro, MA
Parks, slides, GIANT sandbox and a petting zoo. Who could ask for more? My kids can’t.

Lovely Ladies | East Greenwich Family Portraits

I have been swamped this last week with sessions, weddings, albums and even managed to squeeze in a mini family vacation for the 4th of July. But I have to share a few that I came across from a session I did this last weekend in East Greenwich, RI. These two girls and their family could not have made my job easier.

All of the components of a great session were there… Great kids, loving family, perfect weather, wonderful yard to let them all play a little. How beautiful are these girls?

Even their Grandparents got in on the act.

And the parents had some great suggestions of places by the water we could visit. I will see if I can find some of those photos to share later.

All and all, a perfect session.
Okay, now back to work.
Cheers!

That for which I am forever grateful

Of course I am thankful for dirty shoes and my kids who will always fill them. Fingers that investigate and spirits that soar…

…adoring brothers and sisters and the love of double mommy underdogs…

…the sound of the Atlantic Ocean as it tries in vain to dampen the voices and jumps of my wet footed children, oblivious to the cold…

…and this guy. The best fish the sea could offer…

…for seagulls who make great companions in the game of tag…

…and every day that we are so blessed to get to spend together….

But the list is hard to complete without my gratitude for the family and friends we get to share our lives with and who bring us so much Joy and, of course, Health, which has been keeping us company.

Coggeshall Farm Museum

We just happened upon this place. We were driving through Colt State Park in Bristol, RI and I was letting the GPS map pleasantly guide the car through back roads and we passed this really old style farm. I didn’t even think much of it, other than “I should just let my kids out to check out the animals” on our way back from the water. It was a little cold down at the park, so we didn’t last as long as I had hoped. But on the way back, sure enough, the sheep were out in force close to the side of the road. We HAD to stop. I don’t think our car seats are “Griffin-sees-a-sheep-and-must-Must-MUST-get-OUT tested” so we managed to do so in as quick a fashion as is possible without any major injuries (egos excluded).

The kids broke into a run. Good thing I carry this giant camera with me…

There was no one there at all (beasts excluded) only a donation box. Without guides or other pesky visitors, the kids made fast friends with the sheep.

Then the chickens and donkeys…

And no, these fences do very little to keep toddlers out. In case you were wondering.

Griffin, playing farm guide and pointing out which part of the fenced off areas are not really toddler proof. He will happily show your toddler. Payment in form of a good chase through the chicken coop accepted.

Not actually an out house, but I couldn’t get the image of potty training a toddler in the days of out houses out of my head.

Colt State Park

This is fast becoming one of my favorite parks in RI after just a few visits. Mostly it is the variety. Then it is the fact that every time I visit I get a whole different feel. I had taken a family there a few months back for a portrait session, but have only been back a couple more times with the kids. On the day of our last visit, it started out rather cold and gloomy…

Which didn’t stop the kids from running amuck and chasing all the seagulls. Or from attempting to tackle mommy.

Last photo is of the kids regrouping after discovering horse shoe crab shell under the bridge.

Then Griffin did a rain dance with his discovered magic sun calling stick … which magically made the sky grin…

… and shine sunshine down upon us.
