Active Boys are Awesome | NH Family portrait photography

Unless you have/love an active boy in your world, you may not have experienced life in some of it’s fantastic extremes. Living with little boys is living life on the edge. Edge of giddy sanity. With all their running, poking, swinging, laughing, balancing, playing, throwing, testing, silly-ing(may not be a word, but it is an action in our house), jumping, bonking, flushing (short story, but not worth sharing) and more laughing.
It may not be the kind of energy you can bring to a coffee shop or a restaurant (Heck, I am not even sure a McDonnalds is ready for my 2 year old Griffin). But I love having them for a photo session. Smiles come easy where ever mischief can be found.

A two year old’s energy and zestiness is something awesome to behold.
Not that you can hold them for long.
Thanks for a great session guys!

I wanna hold your hand | NH Family Portrait.

If you have had a toddler, you have likely played this game before.
I want to hold your hands. No. Mommy’s hand, no. Daddy’s hand, NO. Wait, both hands. No. Wait.

This young lady is so super lovely and loved.

Both sets of her grandparents were able to be there for the portraits. They braved the chill of the NH air.

Young A took a little while to thaw herself. She is a girl after my own heart. I have a special love for little shy ones. My daughter at this age stopped looking at the camera all together. Devastating for a photographer mama. But she would not have looked at all at a stranger holding a black camera.

Little A has a similar spirit that experiences the world through the eyes of an observer. She wants to take it all in and make her assements before jumping in. Love it. It can make my job a bit more of a challenge, but a chalenge well worth it.

Field of Dreams | Child Portraits in NH

Some friends just got a house in NH that sits on a gorgeous property with an incredible view. And this was what my camera drew me to… What is it about sticking a kid in a field that makes me all camera giddy? See for yourself…

You will have to take my word for it. Their view rocks.

But so do my kids.

*Note to self: new technique to get smiles from my daughter…. Get a bug in your ear and freak out a little.

Ahhh- what I will endure for a real smile-with-the-eyes kind of photo…
