It is great when a couple makes my job so easy. We spent a day last weekend just walking around the Public Garden and Beacon Hill visiting some of their old haunts. Much of the session was spent avoiding tourists or figuring out how to incorporate them into the shot. We got lucky. You can never go wrong in this part of Boston. More importantly you can’t take a bad photo of a couple so at ease with themselves and each other. I can’t wait until their wedding!

I have a friend who is the program manager for architectural and historical walking tour company Boston by Foot. When she saw some of these photos posted on my Facebook page, she asked if some were taken on Acorn street. I wish I knew the street names, but I find that as I work, I pay such little attention to where I am. Instead I am drawn to the feel of a place…how the image will look with the lighting and texture, etc.
I have to sign up for a tour some time soon, though, so I know more about the great places I am photographing in Boston.

Engagement session at Wellesley College Botanical Gardens
My job is most fun when I get to photograph a great couple in a new location. And what a great new location I discovered whilst searching for areas that would be in bloom. The lovely bride-to-be is really into flowers and color- and in April everything is just starting to sprout.
Add to that, I always look for a place that won’t be crowded with people (picture Boston Public Garden in the Spring). But I think I stumbled onto location-perfection here at the Wellesley College Botanical Gardens. The campus itself looks like the creation of a movie producer creating the look of what an ideal campus should look like. Lots of old buildings, sprawling lawns, cultivated garden areas, courtyards, arching trees… A photographer’s yummy stuff for the lens.
I could have stayed there for the whole afternoon.
But enough about the location… Check out this super sweet couple. I can’t wait to photograph them this summer! Thanks guys for the perfect afternoon.

Busy Bliss
Fall in the Arnold Arboretum in JP- Lovely. Getting to do an engagement session with a couple that hardly ever gets a day off together- Even better. Having it be such an incredibly cute couple who are such a lovely match for each other- Perfection. Congrats M and M – can’t wait for your wedding and thanks for spending a bit of your day off with me (and for introducing me to JP Lick’s Pumpkin soft serve ice cream)
