It could feel really awkward at first to walk through crowded streets being followed by a lady with noticable cameras pointed in your direction. If L and N felt this way, it certainly doesn’t read in the photos.
Here’s the thing about Engagement sessions. It isn’t hard to look good when your happiness shines through. My job is just plain easy when a couple just needs to look at each other, hold a hand, share as smile and they look as lovely as this.

“Lovebirds!” (inside joke)

I am just going to say. Jumping pictures were not my idea. I didn’t think he was going to convince her to do them. But N and L pulled it off. Here is to the leap they are about to take in a little less than a months time!

I got to go around Harvard Square little bit ago to make some photographs with this great couple.

They were pretty great.
I grew up just outside of The Square but it was great to see it through the eyes of a student at the Graduate School of Design.

The (now closed down) Crate and Barrel store in the former Design Research Building. I had actually never noticed it before as a building. Designed in 1969 by the former Harvard Graduate School of Design chairman of architecture, Benjamin C. Thompson.

Here is the Larson Building
I actually went to preschool here. Thats right. I went to preschool at Harvard.
I was discharged once I started pronouncing my ‘Rs’.

They are sycamore trees. Drove me crazy – I had to look up what kind of trees lined Memorial Drive. I love that row.

The divinity building for a couple of divine photos. (yes, I can hear you groaning)

Such a great afternoon. Looking forward to the wedding guys! It is coming up soon!
Memorial Drive Engagement Session | Cambridge Wedding Photography
I love it when a couple tells me they want to recreate a photo like one from their parents or grandparents. The bride-to-be mentioned that her grandparents have a photo from their wedding day that was taken in front of a gate at Harvard.

We started our session on Memorial Drive near the Skating Club and thought we would make our way down until we found the (a) gate.

But we didn’t know exactly were it was… Because of threatening weather, we jumped in my car for a drive a little further down where we were sure we would find a “Harvard Gate.” But alas the parking gods (nor the Cambridge police) were all to lenient with me. I must have used up all my credits during my youth.

But all that driving in circles did scare away the rain we went back to where we started and we were able to find some great spots along our walk down Memorial

and finally found that (or at least a similar) gate.

Looking forward to October!
