Flight(and other things they teach you in Kindergarten)

Who knew when she started Kindergarten she would learn how to fly?

It is hard to believe how big she has become. So many things are changing for her these days.
She has been coming home with such new-found confidence and abilities, it takes this parent’s breath away. Yay for the teachers (specifically Mrs G and Mrs R) and the school village that shows her how!
It turns out, Flight is one of the lesser known subjects they now cover in school. I hear they cut back on recess in order to teach it. (Hey, look my sarcasm can fly too ;) )

I don’t think she will thank me for this last photo later on, but I love it anyhow.

What do we do all day?

This last week saw the start of Kindergarten for Dunedin. Griffin doesn’t start for another week and our beloved sitter who was with us durring the summer is back at her teaching job. This leaves me and Griffin to fend for ourselves, without the instruction and guidance of older sister. Those of you who are privy to the workings of our family may wonder how we manage…
We do seem to muddle through somehow.

Griffin does ask thoughout the day about when Dunes will be home.
And I have to say, it melts my heart the way they hug when they see each other again.

So Dunes, wonder what it is that we do all day when you are busying yourself with the eforts of Kindergarten?

Really, can’t guess?

I just came across these in a toss file. My personal photos don’t go nearly through the rigorous backing up, labling, categorizing that my professional photos do. And sometimes I find them in folders they just do not belong.
These are from a trip last winter to Seattle that I took with Dunedin to visit her new cousin Aziza. She was such a great travel companion. She made for great conversation the entire multi-leg flight. I think she may have given the TSA a run for thier money, poking holes in thier security protocols. “Why are they they taking your knife, mommy?” (I had a swiss army knife riding stow away in a front pouch) “Why are they only taking out the knife from your suitcase now?” (we had already made it 2 legs of the trip)
Here she is testing out the light for me before I get to photograph her cousin Aziza.
She has decided she is going to be a photographer when she grows up so she can work with me. She is going to live downstairs and my husband and I can live upstairs and watch her kids. Glad she has childcare figured out already- I wish I was that on the ball…
