Little Urban Architect

Dunedin knows we are slowly in the process of looking for a new house. She has spent a lot of time asking about, suggesting, describing…demanding this unknown house. We have conversations in the car where she points to some house with a desirable feature like, say, a dog out front, and says, “Mommy, we should buy THAT house..and the dog can live on the porch so it isn’t bad for your al-yur-gies… and Zander and Georgia can come for a sleep over…and Omi can visit with lobsters…and Griffin can dig in the dirt. Is that a good idea? Is that a fun game, Mommy?”
Yesterday this is what I found her doing with the blocks- creating our new home. Based on her description:

  • 1. It needs lots of colors.
  • 2. It has a fence in the back to keep in Griffin and our new (pending) pet gorilla.
  • 3. It has lots of rooms and a roof (for sliding down, of course)
  • 4. It has a place for our upstairs neighbor to live so that she can visit the cats.
  • 5. Has a garden for the broccoli.

Perhaps I should forward this list to our Realtor.
