It is so great to get to photograph talent. It is like having a pause button that holds that moment of skill frozen in time forever. These two brothers were incredible musicians. I wish I had been able to get an audio recording as well. Perhaps I will get to come back and shoot their album cover some day…
The dog, Potter, wanted in for a few shots as well, at the end.

The McGee Brothers
4th Birthday for a 3 year old
A few photos from Dunedin’s 4th 3rd Birthday bash at Roger Williams Park. There was an eerie calm that descended the group once the cake crawled out (nothing like sugar induced silence) This was really the only time I got to snap a few photos. The rain managed to hold off until all allergic and non-allergic guests made their way home and the table had been cleared. Thanks Birthday Gods.

The Lovely Lana
How do you photograph a 15 month old? Lana made it easy. These curly locks and big eyes don’t hurt, either. I met Lana (and her handlers) at the Garden in the Woods, in Framingham, MA. Because of weather, we had had to change up dates and locations far too many times over the last month but it was worth it for the perfect day we had yesterday. Rebecca and Niels have a special place in my heart as clients. Rebecca’s infections smile was the first photo my daughter smiled back at when she was just a few months old as I held her and edited photos on my computer. They are also one of those special couples who interact with the world with style, poise and grace and their love for the lovely Miss Lana and each other is striking. Enjoy a few previews:

I had to include this last one. Rebecca assured me that she wears these heels all the time while balancing Lana and her other daily pursuits ![]()

ChugaChuga
Choo choo.
More than a few images from our little afternoon trip to the Adirondack Scenic Railroad in Old Forge with the kids and cousins

I love Griffin’s fearless readiness to climb aboard the engine and cousin Keitas attempts to keep him down.

Neices Nora and Lily hamming it up- don’t know where they get that from…

Keita trying to keep it real with her younger cousins

we probably should feed Griffin more often…

yup, that is my daughter with her finger up her nose. Sigh.

Gosh she does really love her brother

why we all love Keita

in the train, running a muck. Must be my kids.

yes, there were parents there to… although some of them were sleeping

How many birthdays
How many birthdays can one 3 year old have? So far: 3 going on 4. These are from our trip out to Buffalo this last week.

But judging from her face in the center photo (ice cream cake induced) never enough…

Perhaps I should start bringing ice cream cakes along with me for children’s portrait sessions. Once, when I was first starting out as a photographer, I had a mother that held chocolate above her 4 year old daughters head while I was taking photographs. That didn’t end well.
My husband swears that holding a chocolate bar while shopping entreats the children to follow him around and not get distracted or distracting. I have not found this to be the case when taking the children through the grocery store. hmmm.
