When a former “classmate” of mine -or should I say an “old” classmate of my daughter D’s- from our Mommy and Me yoga class asked me to do some portraits of her 2 little girls I was thrilled. I hadn’t seen her since we had both had our second children and in the interim she had had an entire house torn down and built on Quinsigamond Lake in Shrewsbury. The house came out great, of course, but Pheobe was really the best-designed new addition. Because of the midday light, the sharp downward slanting landscape on their property and “rolliness” of small children they wisely suggested that we go across the lake to a friend’s house who had some lovely shaded gardens and landscaping on the other side. They then suggested we take their new pontoon boat… I hate to admit that my first thoughts, when getting on boats, is always for my camera equipment. I actually think my husband may have come up with a rule about not letting me near the water with our children and my cameras. We know that I would save the children first… but why test the theory, right? Before I could work myself into a frenzy of how to protect my gear, in case… they decided it may actually be a little hot and sweaty getting over there. Crisis in my mind averted. Anyhow. Here are a few images from the session. They are a darn good lookin family if you ask me. And, yes, I did get another subject up into a tree. It is always amazing how people do what you say when you have a camera in your hand. My teacher friends should take note.
